October 10th, 2008 - Important Announce about Our Pool

Today, when I lightbulb was being change in the pool area, the class 20" x 20" cover fell. It broke and went into the pool. Per state health code regulations the pool needs to be drained and all the glass needs to be removed. There will NOT be practice at FMS-W Pool for at least the next week. I will be looking for another location to practice at and will let you know as soon as I do. Please stay tuned.

June 17th, 2008 - Tigersharks NOT attending NHCP Meet

We were cut from the NHCP meet on June 21-22nd. Just so everyone knows, the Entries were due on June 12th by 6:00pm. As you can see below I sent the entries on June 11th, at 11:58am. So, I did try to get the entries in early to prevent this. This is all the more reason to get your entries in on time!!!!

May 30th, 2008 - Announcing "Lane Lines"

Greetings all....

Well...we are fast approaching our Second Annual Fin Frenzy Meet....and things are going smoothly so far....I'd like to thank you all for all the support I have received again during this process...there have been many of you willing to step outside your comfort zone and learn new roles and take on new tasks in order to make this meet work!!! My hats off to you all.....

The club is offering "Lane Lines" to be printed in the Meet Program. These are inspiring thoughts or wishes for you to send your swimmer, or for the swimmers to send each other....you will find the form posted on the website....just print it out, fill in, and place in box with $5 at the pool.....there are also blank forms available at the pool on the bulletin board......you can buy as many as you wish.....

Note, all requests must be in the pool box by June 3rd at 6pm.....

May 14th, 2008 - Not Attending the HAST Pre-C Meet

HAST Pre-C meet has been moved to Saturday, May 31st. Due to the fact Doug will be out of town this weekend and I wil be at the A meet, we will not be attending this meet. :(

May 11th, 2008 - We have been moved the Black Dog Meet

IMPORTANT!!!!!

March 31st, 2008 - Registration Cancelled Tonight, Rescheduled for Thursday night.

All afternoon and evening events for Farmington Schools will be cancelled for today, Monday, March 31, 2008. This includes, Community Ed, athletics and high school parent/teacher conferences.

Due to this, we will be moving todays Registration to Thursday. Same time and place.

January 8th, 2008 - No Novice Practice Wednesday, January 16th

September 9, 2007 - Interim Coaching Announcement

While the TSC Board considers coach Shawn DeLeary's resignation to be unfortunate timing, we are excited to bring back as our interim head coach, former head coach Dion Erbes who was with the Tigersharks for 9 years. Assisting him will be Doug Horton, as well as volunteer coach Bill Asmus. Bill is a former U of M record holder and U of MN All-American swimmer and he also coached Dion at St. Cloud State. We appreciate their efforts to maintain the quality of coaching that you have come to expect with the Tigersharks Swim Club as we work to replace the head coaching position. September 7, 2007 - Coach DeLeary resigns

Dear Membership,

Regrettably, I write to inform you that I have resigned as coach at Tigersharks. Unfortunately, professional differences exist that make it impossible for me to continue functioning as your coach.

Because I will not be coaching future practices or meets I wanted to say I appreciated working with you and I will miss you. I know that Tigersharks will transition you to good coaches and that the kids will do well under their guidance.

I wish you the best in swimming and your future endeavors.

August 31, 2007 - New Coach Hired

With registration just around the corner the Board wanted to update you on changes to our coaching staff. As everyone is aware, after nine years Coach Dion has decided to take some time off and not return to coaching this season with the club. Coach Laura has also decided not to return to the club this year due to the fact that her time spent coaching was more difficult on her own children than anticipated.

We are excited to announce that Doug Horton has accepted our job offer to be an assistant coach with our club! We are very excited about having Doug join our team and feel that the swimmers will learn and have a lot of fun with him. We are still in the process of hiring a second assistant coach, but we are confident that between Coach Shawn and Coach Doug we will have great coaching coverage for all groups until a replacement is hired.

Please be sure to stop in the pool during registration next week to say “hi” and welcome Doug to our team! I have attached a copy of the season letter that everyone should have received in the mail this past week. Also, as a reminder, all swimmers registering for fall/winter season will need to fill out and pay for MSI (insurance). Unfortunately the athlete forms are not available online at this time so I am unable to forward so you can fill out in advance. Please be sure to fill a form out at the MSI table during registration.

July 3rd, 2007 - Lake Swim July 6th

WE WILL NOT HAVE A BUS TO TAKE US TO THE LAKE ON FRIDAY, AS THE COST THEY CAME UP WITH IS TOO EXPENSIVE! (WE GOT IT FREE LAST YEAR, AS I WAS DRIVING) THEREFORE, ALL SWIMMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING YOURSELF TO THE LAKE AND BACK HOME WHEN WE ARE DONE. IF YOU DRIVE YOURSELF, THE BOATS WE HAVE AT THE LAKE WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO YOUR CAR. WE WILL STILL HAVE OUR COOK OUT AND TUBING, FRISBEE, AND VOLLEYBALL AFTERWARDS. THE COST IS STILL $5 PER PERSON (WHICH WILL COVER YOUR FOOD). PLEASE MEET AT THE BOAT LAUNCH AT LAKE MARION IN LAKEVILLE, READY TO GO BY 7:45 A.M. YOU MUST WEAR A WHITE CAP!

June 19th, 2007 - T-Shirt Design Contest
We are asking club members to "dive-in"to their creative side and submit a t-shirt design and slogan for the 2007 Long-Course State Meet held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Deadline - July 6, 2007 Entries - You can enter as many times as you wish All entries should be given to your coach in a sealed envelope Design Requirements - 2 sides to the t-shirt 2 colors maximum, excluding the t-shirt color. Grand Prize - $50 gift certificate to Elsmore Aquatic and the t-shirt. Remember, creativity doen not require artistic ability , just great ideas!

June 15th, 2007 - Important Message from Dion

Dear Swimmers and Parents,

Nine years ago, when I started the Tigersharks Swim Club, I did not know if the club would succeed once we were not part of Community Education. Over the years, I have given everything I could give for the club. At times I have put the needs of the club in front of the needs of my family and myself. It has paid off. The club has become a successful program. I would like to thank all the coaches who helped make this program the success it has become.

It is with great regret and sorrow that I write this e-mail. At this time, I am resignating as a coach of the Tigersharks. I informed the swimmers who attended practice this morning of my intent. Please know I will be finishing out my current contract. However, I will not be signing a new contract. This was not an easy decision to make. I care about our team and our families very much. You will all be missed.

I would like everyone to know I am leaving for myself. I am not unhappy with anything or anyone in our program. We have a great thing going here, let's keep it that way. However, I need to focus on some other aspects of my life at this time, such as family, friends, personal interests, and grad school.

The Registration days have changed to Monday March 26 and Tuesday March 27th from 6-7pm at the Farmington Middle School West Pool

March 2nd, 2007 - Finals Friday Events Postponed

Friday nights session has been canceled by MSI due to the weather. Please review the message posted on the MSI website:

Attention - Change of ABC Finals Event Order
Due to inclement weather, the JETS (Elk River) and HASA (Hudson) Friday sessions have been canceled. The ABC Finals in Alexandria be conducted as originally scheduled - all 3 days.

The JETS & HASA Friday events have been postponed as follows:
> The 100 IM will follow the afternoon events on SATURDAY.
> The 1650 Free will follow the afternoon events on SATURDAY and SUNDAY.
> The 400 IM will follow the afternoon events on SUNDAY

You may also call 988-4184 (outstate: call 1-800-204-8598). When the message answers, dial extension #418 1.

Attached is a new timeline for Saturday and Sunday. The 1650 FR will be split between Saturday and Sunday. Please review and let me know of any issues you may have. Also, please respond back and let me know that you have received this message.

Due to the school cancelling all evening activities we will not be having practice tonight.

December 14th, 2006 - Buck Hill Teaming Tubing night

Hello All, We will be having our annual Buck Hill tubing outing Feb. 6th from 6-8 P.M. We strongly encourage you to bring all family and friends you would like!

We have the tubing hill all to ourselves, and they will have a bon fire for us as well! We had 130 people last year, and would like to see that many or more this year!

The cost is $10 per person, and that money is due for EVERYONE no later than January 29th. Please turn $ in to your coach or the treasurers mail box (Devon and Mariah Meeks).

If you want snacks while you are there, you will need to bring extra $ for that! We would like to see everyone on the team participate, as we had such a great time last year, and we know it will be just as fun or even more fun as last year! If you have any questions please ask your coach, or you can call me, or e-mail me.

October 11th, 2006 - No Practice on October 11th or 12th.

There will be no practice on October 11th or 12th for the Novice, White, BLue/Indigo groups.

August 29th, 2006 - New Coach for Novice/White Groups

Hi Everyone

As some of you may be aware, Laurie has decided not to renew her contract with our club. The Board is pleased to announce that we have found a replacement for Laurie to coach our Novice and White Groups. Laura Theodore comes to us with a tremendous background in swimming and a real passion for the sport of swimming.

She grew up a swimmer - swimming in club, high school and college - and since then has spent the years coaching. She is currently the head swim program coordinator for Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville during their summer season where she works with swimmers of all ages. She has also been the head girl’s high school coach at Apple Valley High School from 2003 to 2006.

Please be sure to welcome Laura to our club during registration next week (Sept 6 & 8 from 6-7pm at FMSW pool).
